¹⁶ And they were brought back from there to ^[a](A)Shechem and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of ^[b]Hamor in ^[c]Shechem.

¹⁷ “But as the ^(B)time of the promise which God had assured to Abraham was approaching, ^(C)the people increased and multiplied in Egypt, ¹⁸ until ^(D)another king arose over Egypt who did not know Joseph.
